Hi, I'm James.

You might be here because you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by shame, struggling in your relationships, or trying to make sense of painful experiences that continue to affect your life. Perhaps you've found yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, disconnected from yourself or the people you care about, or unsure of how to move forward. Whatever brings you here, therapy is a place where you don't have to carry it alone, where together we can slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and begin moving toward meaningful and lasting change.

How I Can Help

I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, identity concerns, spirituality, substance use, and the lasting impact of childhood experiences. Together, we'll explore the emotional patterns, relationships, and life experiences that have shaped where you are today while building greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. My goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of who you are so you can experience more authentic, fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.

What It's Like to Work With Me

Clients often experience me as warm, compassionate, and genuinely curious about their unique story. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, accepted, and free to explore your experiences without fear of judgment. I believe healing happens in relationship, so our work together will be collaborative, grounded in trust, and paced according to what feels manageable for you. I'll gently support and challenge you as we work toward the changes that matter most to you.

My Approach

My work is person-centred, attachment-focused, trauma-informed and experiential, drawing on evidence-based approaches that recognize the importance of emotions, relationships, and the body's natural capacity for healing. I integrate models including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy, tailoring my approach to your unique needs and goals.

A Little About Me

Outside of being a therapist, you'll often find me reading, experimenting with old film cameras, on the golf course, or spending quality time with family and friends. I believe staying connected to the people and activities that bring us joy to be an important part of living a meaningful life.
