Cassandra is a caring and empathetic therapy intern. Her style is holistic and client-centered, with a focus on ensuring that her clients feel understood and supported. For many years, Cassandra has been passionate about mental health and wellness, and she views therapy as an impactful tool that can be used not only to navigate life’s challenges, but also a tool that can assist with personal growth.
Cassandra has a special interest in working with young adults experiencing interpersonal challenges. She also supports individuals 17+ experiencing challenges with symptoms of anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, and life transitions.
Cassandra is currently completing her Master of Science in Psychotherapy at McMaster University. She holds an Honours Bachelor Degree of Applied Science in Family and Community Social Services from the University of Guelph, as well as a Social Service Worker Diploma from Humber College.
Cassandra’s training and experience has primarily focused on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and much of her practice is grounded in this therapeutic approach. She also integrates skills and techniques from other evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Recognizing the uniqueness of every person and experience, Cassandra collaborates with her clients to create tailored therapeutic plans based on individual goals.
Continued Professional Development:
Through attending workshops and presentations, Cassandra is continuously learning to ensure that her understanding about evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and mental-health related topics remains up to date. As an avid reader herself, you can also find Cassandra regularly reading psychotherapy related literature to further develop her therapeutic knowledge.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, Cassandra enjoys going to pilates classes, grabbing a coffee with friends, or attending a live music performance.
